HOPE was created in the midst of the Santa Barbara and Ventura County firestorm in the fall of 2017. During one of the worst days of ash and bad news, a brave skywriter repeatedly wrote HOPE in the sky followed by hearts. The physicality of the blue painted tree in the garden, which had died, symbolized the rebirth of the tree in a new form as a painted sculpture in a spiritual colour leading the eye to the message in the sky.
