Myself, my husband Lord Ricki, and six shihtzus arrived in this historical small city in the central Mexico mountains in fall of 2020.  Looking for new inspirations, and a new way of life, we arrived to Covid lockdowns and  very quiet cobblestone streets and colorful buildings.  I was struck by the beauty and age contrasted with the now lonely streets where masked strangers walked quickly by.  This painting speaks to my feelings of isolation and wonder at that time.  A time we were all feeling isolated, confused and fearful.  Lord Ricki is always the most colorful character with an enormous personality and he alone has filled the most popular street in San Miguel de Allende, Aldama St.  Painted in my new studio, exploring new colors and emotions.
